MISSION
The purpose of Community Action Group for Encouragement (C.A.G.E.) is for the sole charitable purpose of improving the quality of life through all acts necessary, proper, or in furtherance of the Gullah Geechee Communities, within the meaning of Internal Revenue Code 501(c)(3).
C.A.G.E. will improve the quality of life through effective organization of the Gullah Geechee Communities. C.A.G.E. will primarily focus on the citizens of Charleston County living east of the Cooper River. Said area spans from east of the Cooper River to Georgetown County.
C.A.G.E. intends to satisfy its purpose by providing information and educational opportunities to residents of the Gullah Geechee Communities. The Organizational experience, along with the myriad of experiences of its members recognizes that access to accurate information in a timely manner is the key to creating and fostering a cohesive and productive community. C.A.G.E. will provide access to information on topics concerning and affecting the citizens of Gullah Geechee Communities. Citizens will be able to contact C.AG.E. for information such as home improvement, recreation, educational opportunities, traffic and safety issues, environmental concerns such as sewage and drainage, preservation of existing community structure, potential environmental impacts, and community facilities.
